SalvadorSix years ago, I made my first journey to Salvador, Bahia, Brazil—the trip I had been planning for so many years.

The time had finally come and went 2 weeks later. Salvador turned out to be everything I had hoped for and more. I fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle, the food, the beaches, and the ever-present influence of West African culture, its vibrant spirit, and energy.

To deepen my experience, I visited a quilombo to learn about African and Indigenous resistance, and I discovered the healing power of plant medicines and vibrational sound healing in the forest with a shaman. These moments rounded out an unforgettable experience.

I loved it so much that I returned just seven months later to dive even deeper. My second visit, which lasted a month only solidified my connection to Salvador, and it was during this trip that I claimed it as my spiritual home.

Now feels like the perfect time to share this transformative experience with a community ready to explore a different way of living, thriving, and embracing Black abundance.

Have you ever dreamed of adventures in Brazil? Are you ready to slip into your samba shoes? Are you seeking a deep emotion/spiritual release of recharge? Are you prepared to relax and play along the coastline in warm waters?

Why Visit Black Rome

Salvador, Bahia, the birthplace of capoeira, samba-reggae, and axé music is known as the “Black Rome of the Americas” because it is the spiritual and cultural heart of Afro-Brazilian heritage. As Brazil’s first capital and a key port during the transatlantic slave trade, it became home to the largest African diaspora in the Americas, shaping its traditions, music, and religion.
The city is a major center for Candomblé, an Afro-Brazilian faith with Yoruba roots, where orixás are venerated much like saints in Catholicism. Its historic district, Pelourinho, is filled with colonial churches, cultural landmarks, and artistic expressions celebrating Black identity.
